Very good

--The Good--

First of all, this is simply a great flash movie. The graphics in this movie were smooth, and they weren't choppy at all really. Also, I liked how you made the two locks into sprites. The style in this movie was great, too. The sound in tihs movie was excellent; you could understand pretty much everything that they were saying, and the choices of music were very good (especially that music at the end :). There was quite a lot of violence in this flash; the murdering of the Fingerlock (I don't know if that's his name for sure) counted for some of it, and they burning of the Babyloglock, and the fight between Breatfruitlock and Masterlock and the end (are the 'l's in 'lock' capitalized in the lock's name's?) There was some interactivity in this movie, too. The menu was great. I haven't watched the extras, but I've seen the whole movie (but I haven't watched the credits :P). The subtitles in this flash were great, and good for people who can't understand what the locks in this movie are saying, and this flash was also pretty funny. Oh, and I love your pre-loader!

--The Improvement-Needing--

Well, though the graphics were good, the only problem I had with them was that when they were in the time vortex, all of a sudden the graphics became low quality! That's not a huge complaint, but I just thought I'd mention that (was it on purpose...?) Also, when they were in the time vortex, you couldn't hear what they were saying at all (were they even saying anything...?)

--Overall--

Overall, this is a great flash ovie. The graphics and style were great, and the sound was great, too. I love your pre-loader, also! The menu was a good addition to this flash, and there was some violence in this flash (which may or may not be a good thing...) You can improve on a few minor issues (the low quality graphics in the time portal, and, also, you can't hear what they're saying in the time portal [or was that on purpose, or were they even saying anything?]). But, overall, this is a great flash!

MasterLock responds:

Thank you my kind sir.

1. "Fingerlock" is known as PeaceLock.
2. Yes, the L in "lock" is usually capitalized in names.
3. The preloader was made by UnknownClock, it's kind of the official Lock Day preloader, since most locks are using it for their movies.

Improvement-wise: Yes, the graphics were supposed to be set to low for the time vortex scene; as it runs very very laggily if it's on high, and I never really tried medium, to tell the truth. Also, they weren't saying anything, I just made subtitles, and synched the lock movements to what I think it would normally be like, because the music was loud and such.

Long story short, the time vortex issues you had were completely on purpose, due to laggy computers and loud music and stuff. (Also, if the quality had been set higher, the music would mess up, since it is set to stream (flash terminology :L).)

Not bad, but...

--The Good--

Well, I liked it, actually. I thought some of the pictures in the background were humerous, and I thought that it was kind of funny to see Samuel L. Jackson bopping around like that. The picture of the female Ronald McDonald was kind of funny, and the thing about is that it may not have been a great flash with great graphics or anything, but it still passed, and I still kind of enjoyed it! Also, I like your pre-loader. The music in this flash was pretty good, too.

--The Improvement-Needing--

Well, obviously, most of your flashes with the roman numeral's in them are pretty much the same thing, but with a different picture in. Most of them have all the same backgrounds, pre-loader, and probably some more things that are the same (from what I know). There wasn't a lot of interactivity in this (except the 'PLAY' and 'REPLAY' buttons'), but that isn't really a big deal, as this is a movie, not a game. Also, there wasn't a lot of violence in this flash (which isn't a big deal either).

--Overall--

Overall, I gave you a 6. This was actually not a bad flash, but it's kind of the same thing over and over again, just with a ifferent picture of somebody bopping around. I liked the music in this flash, and I also liked the pre-loader. There wasn't a lot of violence in this flash, or interactivity, but it doesn't really matter.

Bbqbeefburgerman responds:

I refuse to believe such statements

Sorry, but not very good

--The Good--

I thought the music at the menu was very cool, and I also liked the opening of this movie. The colour shceme at the opening menu was very nice.

--The Improvement-Needing--

Well, first of all, I usually don't find Hitler or World War II jokes funny AT ALL, so this wasn't really wasn't in the least funny to me. Also, I didn't think the music when the actual movie started was very good (although it wasn't fuzzy or anything). There was no interactivity in this movie at all; not even a 'PLAY' button! Also, it was basically the same image of Hitler poiting at a pile of dead people while his head was turning into someone's else's head that was the whole movie. It was not funny. There was a little bit of violence in this movie (the pile of dead people). And, once again, this movie was not really funny in the least.

--Overall--

Overall, this wasn't a very good movie at all. The premise and the actual movie portion of this, well, movie, were not funny at all, and, at least I, don't find Hitler pointing at a pile of dead people funny. The sound was good at the opening scene of this movie, I liked the beat of it... however, the music in the actual movie portion of this flash was not funny, although it was of good quality. There was no interactivity in this movie at all, either. I kind of made this review in two parts, as I went, and then came back to this later. But, belive me or not, I didn;t really enjoy this... I didn't even really have the patience to sit throguh all of it! So, try harder next time.

AfroUnderscoreStud responds:

There was a play button, you fucktard.

Not that great

This wasn't that great of a movie. It was far to short, it didn't have enough of a, well, plot, and it didn't even really mkae any sense. You call it 'Daily Short' and yet you have no other submissions in the portal? Very odd. Anyway, this definately needs some improving, and I'll tell you what to improve on (as well as other things) in this review.

The grpahics for this movie were actually pretty good. I like the way that you drew them; it made the flash look sharp and sophisticated. The text wasn't bad, although it was kind of shaky and a little bit hard to read. You could have made the whole flash about at least 25 to 30 seconds longer, to show off some more of your good drawing skills. The length was probably the biggest problen of this whole movie, actually. Luckily, the graphics were pretty good, which is kind of why I'm giving you the score I gave you.

The style of this movie was pretty good, too. I liked the way you drew the characters (as I said above). The graphics were probably what saved this whole movie (I also said that above). Nice job with the style. You could have added more too it, though. Maybe some credits... a menu... extras...? Just a few thoughts. Maybe this cartoon should be called 'Random Short', since it isn't really 'Daily.' That might make more sense. Anyway, nice job with the style.

I actually really liked the sound in this movie. I thought that the soundeffects went really well with the rest of the movie, the music was very good, and kind of set the theme of the movie. You could have added audio for the vioces, maybe (if you have a microphone, that is). Once again, if you had made the movie longer, you could have showcased some more of that great sound. Anyway, it was pretty good, and probably (as well as the style) the high point of this particular movie.

There was some violence in this movie. The rabbit getting shot in the head was violence, and also the guy getting shot in the head was violence. Since that was basically the whole movie, you didn't have nough time to pack any more shots of people getting shot in the head. This isn't a bad thing, probably. But, once again, the length of this movie kind of, well, wrecks, for lack of a better word, the movie. Just make it a bit longer!

There was a little bit of interactivity in this movie. The 'PLAY' button was some interactivity, and the 'REPLAY' button was some more interactivity. It doesn't really matter that this doesn't have that much interactivity, since it is a movie, not a game.

And, finally, humour, whcich there a little bit of. I can't really explain why, but it was kind of sick humour. Well, anyway, as with interactivity, it isn't a big deal that this didn't have that much humour.

I wrote this review in kind of 2 parts, because in the middle of writing this, I had to go out. Just thought I'd mention that. Well, believe me or not, this movie does need some improving. I thought that it was far too short, it kind of needs a plot, and it needs to make sense. I had no idea what was going on. Anyway, nice try, but if you make another one of these, you should, and could, improve.

Frostbreath responds:

...

Yes?

This was an okay movie

I thought that this was an okay movie. A lot of things needed some improving, like the graphics (the over-sized sprites and the overall animation in total). The song, while slightly sick, is still a pretty good song; I kind of like System of a Down, but I might have chosen a different song to animate... but that's really just my personal opinion.

The graphics, as I said above, could definately use some work. I mean, the sprites were definately way to large, as two of them basically took up the whole screen. Also, I might not have used sprites, but I might have used actual animtion (not saying that you didn't use animation, but...) And another thing is that it was sort of the same thing over and over again. You should try and do different animations. The background wasn't bad, but it could, as with many other things about this movie, use some improving (I'm not saying that this a bad movie or anything).

The style of this movie wasn't bad either. The sprites kind of gave it some style, as some people like sprites. The movie wasn't especially 'stylish'; what I mean by that is this: the sprite were too pixelated, the pre-loader wasn't especially great or anything, and adding the BBS emotican was kind of a nice touch, but what was its point? I'm not saying that everytinhg in movie's need to have a point, but, just... what was the point?

As I said before, I like System of a Down. This is an okay song by them (I'd never heard it before until this movie, although Id heard of it), but I might have picked a different song by them to animate (also mentioned above). The timing of the subtitles with the soong was great; everything was basically right when it should have been.

There was virtually no violence in this movie; I gave violence a 1 because there, well... there just seemed to be something kind of vioent about the movie itself, it's hard to explain... (this isn't a bad thing). Anyway, I'm not saying that this movie needed violence or anything, i just thoguht I'd mention that.

Interactivity, once again, was practically non-existent. I gave it a 1 (again) because of the 'PLAY' button at the beginning. There was no 'REPLAY' button, which would have been nice, but it isn't a necessity. Another thing you could have done was make maybe a menu; with different sections for each part of the movie. Maybe even an extras menu, or a scene selection. Just a thought.

And, finally, humour. There was none of this. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as this flash wasn't really trying to be funny. Once again, if you added a menu, maybe you could include some humorous stuff into one of the sections... maybe a 'deleted scenes' part of the movie, or something... once again, just a thought.

Overall, I thought this was a pretty good movie, but it could use some improving. There was nothing wrong with the length of this movie, and, if there was anything wrong with it, it would have been that it was too long! (It wasn't though.) So, jsut make some improvments to it, like the oversized sprites were kind of a problem, and you shouldn't have doing (basically) the same thing over and over again. But, overall, pretty nice job!

kinggila responds:

Wow, this is one hell of a review. I will be responding to each paragraph.

First paragraph, I do agree with the movie needing to be improved, although when I made the movie, I didn't really care about the flaws of this flash. All I cared about was having a good go at flash and getting it to pass judgment zone and have my very own flash. To be honest, I thought there was a chance of this flash getting blammed, but luckily, there were people giving the flash a good score then. :)

Second paragraph, graphics, well, yes, not too pixelated sprites, although back then, I wanted to fill up the empty space there was on the flash and to try and use lip sync on the characters.

Third paragraph, yeah, I remember liking sprites a lot. I said I would be sticking to sprites for all the flashes I would make, but looking at my flash named ":", I don't think I would survive very long by making sprite flashes all the time. It might turn out like illwillpress' flashes with those flashes going downhill. Besides, I would like to try and make non-sprite flashes like my flash tomorrow which I have drawn on the flash. :O I would like to try and be part of the Clock Crew sometime and make some clock flashes.

Fourth paragraph, this is a newer song of SOAD. It was very new when I heard it and got too addicted to this song (seriously, I was listening to that song for over 100 times on one day, or it felt like I was listening to the song that much on one day). The subtitles, I did my best to try and keep the timing with the song right. BTW, did you read the secret messages? ;)

Fifth paragraph, I didn't aim for violence in this flash. Not all flashes do need violence in them, although I guess people would prefer flashes with violence than flashes with no violence.

Sixth paragraph, the replay button. Well, I couldn't be arsed with the actionscript for Flash. I do know that there's actionscript placed on Flash, but I didn't want to get the flash messed up if I tried to make a replay button or anything. However, the flash I will be submitting tomorrow WILL contain a replay button.

A menu button, hmm, I don't think that's necessary for this flash. If a flash I make isn't a long flash, then I don't think it's necessary to add a menu on this flash. Besides, if I did, it would make it a lot harder to try and get everything right in this flash, lol. Extras, hmm, I could've had some extras in this flash, but I just wanted to complete the flash and then submit it to the portal. Deleted scenes, well, there were no scenes deleted. :P

Seventh paragraph, I'm happy to read this. You understand that I didn't aim for humour in this flash, although it did give some people a good laugh. I am also happy to hear that it did make some people laugh since that's something I think I keep failing at. Being funny and making people laugh.

Last paragraph, yes, improving was needed for this flash. Thanks for that excellent review Frenzy_Explosion. Heh, when I was reading this review, I thought you were a 16 year old, but your profile said you're 13, which really surprised me with a very long review like this. O__O

Nice job!

I enjoyed this flash. I thought it was unique, interesting, and well-done.

Graphically this is pretty good. I like your style of drawing. And, on that note, style-wise, this was pretty good as well! Sound I thought was well-done; it was well voice-acted and the sound-quality wasn't scratchy or muffled or anything like that. Violenece there was none of (which doesn't really matter). Interactivity I'llg ive you a one in (for the 'Play' button at the beginning). And humour there was a tiny bit of.

Nice job!, and continue working on more flash!

RedHotPoker responds:

More is on the way soon.

Pretty good, but not great

This was actually pretty good. I enjoyed it. It was kind of funny, and it wasn't perfectly aniamted, but it was still cool.

Graphically, it wasn't the best, as I mentioned above. But, that's not really what matters (in this case). Style-wise it was pretty cool. Sound was cool, but there wasn't a lot of it. Violence there was some of, because of the whole shooting thing. Interactivity there was hardly any, but this is a movie, not a game, so it doesn't really matter. And humour there was only a little bit of.

Good job on this... although I think you could improve, this is a good start.

MegaJohnny responds:

Thanks for reviewing and I totally agree with you. The lack of detail was mostly due to laziness. I got the sound from FK, as it's a great source of free sounds etc. I made the rain quieter in Audacity, but that made it inaudible when all the other sounds were playing...

Umm... okay

This was okay. I guess the graphics were pretty good, the sound was pretty good.

The graphics were pretty good, although there weren't a lot of them. Style-wise this was okay, I guess. Sound was pretty good. Violence there wasn't a lot of, but there was a little. Interactivity there hardly was any, but, once again, there was a little. And humour there was none of.

Good job, I guess. But work on making your movies longer, and make them have more of a point, I guess.

vBulletinClock responds:

It's only fun for us, so yeah... Glad you voted fair, instead of all the fags saying "OMG GLOKS SUXURS!11!1! BLAMK!!111!1!1!1

Umm...

This one sort of startled me. I was expecting a music video of the song (I gave sound a 7 because of that song ;), but it ended up being a 'shock flash'. From what was actually animation it was pretty good... and then it went all, "AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!" on me. Anyway, I guess good job... but put more 'effort' into your flashes, and actually try and make something! (Not that this isn't something, but still.)

smoothtoons responds:

LOL Thanx!

Weird... and random!

That was very, very random, true to the name... I enjoyed it actually. It was well done, I thought. The graphics were pretty good, and... I dunno. It was just good, I guess. It could have been better in areas, like: sometimes I didn't know what was going on on the screen. Anyway, it could be better, but nice job anyway!

bluechipmunk responds:

thank you for your kind reveiw, have a nice day =]
